Kevin J. Kelley grew up in the high desert of Southwestern Idaho near the Snake River. Kevin’s frequent road-tripping has taken him coast-to-coast and to nearly every state. He is often strolling his two dogs, exploring Colorado with his wife, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

He arrived at Red Rocks in Fall 2018 and has loved it ever since. In addition to teaching English and Literature courses, Kevin is the Writing Across the Curriculum Director.

Previously, Kevin has taught at Boise State University and the University of Wyoming. He has also worked as a Fake Patient in a simulation hospital to train nursing students, a produce clerk for a grocery store, and a creative writing teacher for various classes and camps through The Cabin in Idaho.

Kevin’s writing is published in Newsweek, Insider, The Independent, High Country News, Entropy, Potomac Review, Eastern Iowa Review, Santa Ana River Review, and elsewhere. His essay “Po-Tay-To/Po-Tah-To” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and selected as a Notable Essay by The Best American Essays series.
