John Orth

John Orth is full-time faculty at RRCC and leads the Fine Woodworking Program. He has a number of significant accomplishments under his belt, both in and out of woodworking. The son of a carpenter, John practically grew up with a chisel in his hand. He has run a violin building and restoration company for over two decades. John teaches lutherie, carving and furniture-making courses, bringing to the classroom a lifelong passion for music. An accomplished climber and runner, he also holds a Guinness Book of World Records title for the most pullups done in a 24-hour period.
