Red Rocks Community College hosts a ribbon cutting for their expanded Campus in Arvada

Lakewood, CO—Red Rocks Community College will celebrate the opening of its $22.5 million expansion to its Arvada campus location on August 16, 2016.  The ceremony is set to begin at 10 a.m. and speakers include: RRCC President Michele Haney; Congressman Ed Perlmutter; Arvada Mayor Marc Williams; President of Colorado Community College System, Dr. Nancy McCallin; President/CEO of Community First Foundation, Marla J. Williams; Executive Director RRCC Foundation, Ron Slinger; and Interim Arvada Campus Director/Dean of Instruction Bill McGreevy.  Following the ceremony tours of the campus will be provided by students.

The 55,000-square-foot expanded campus delivers access to current high-demand degree and certificate programs while adding new programs for expanding needs and transfer opportunities. This new campus building transforms the Arvada location into a full-service campus that will accelerate the number of graduates in health occupations such as Physician Assistant, Medical Assistant, Nurse Aide, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Holistic Health, and Massage Therapy. Beginning in 2017 RRCC will be the only community college in the nation to offer a master’s degree program for Physician Assistants.

In addition to supporting full transfer degree programs of SmartTrack Associate of Arts and Associate of Science, the Arvada location offers certificates in health professions and continuing education options. Innovative new programs planned for the Arvada Campus include Integrated Nursing Pathway and Social Work Transfer Pathway, partnerships with local four-year colleges that will allow underserved students a direct pathway to earn a bachelor’s degree in needed health careers. The expanded campus will house all of the college’s health professions programs in one place and will also provide financial aid, advising, admissions, food service, bookstore, and other services.
