RRCC Invites all to Veterans Day Celebration

LAKEWOOD, CO – Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) will host a Veterans Day celebration at their Lakewood campus, 13300 W. 6th Avenue on Wednesday, November 11 from 10:50 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Red Rocks students, faculty, staff, and the entire community are welcome to attend.

The activities will begin with an Honor Guard march to the flag pole outside the front entrance at 10:45 a.m. followed by:

  • 10:50 am Opening Ceremony featuring flag raising, National Anthem performed by Jessica Ortiz, bag pipe performance, comments from past National VFW Chaplain, and a flyover from the 140th Wing, Air National Guard (outside main entrance)
  • 12:00 pm -12:15 pm POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony Performed by the Colorado VFW POW/MIA Commemoration Team (Grand Foyer) 
  • 12:15 pm -1:30 pm Community Veterans Day Party: Coffee, cake, snacks and a RRCC Veteran slide show in the Community Room.
  • 1:30 pm -4:00 pm Obstacle Course: An adaptive obstacle course, accessible to walking and wheeling students will be set up by the volleyball nets. (Presented by the RRCC Vet Club and Adaptive Adventures) 
  • 1:30 pm-5:30 pm Film Screening: Several award winning films will be screened in the Den
