RRCC to Participate in Play in a Day Festival
RRCC theatre students compete with student and professional teams from several states in play festival

LAKEWOOD, CO - The Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) Theatre Arts and Dance Department has been invited to participate in the Two Four Seven—Play in a Day Festival, hosted by New Mexico’s Blackout Theatre Company. The one-night only performance will take place on February 27 at 7 p.m.

Seven teams have been invited to the festival, and each team has 24 hours to put together a new virtual play. Teams will receive their rules at 7 pm on the night of February 26, and then they will have 24 hours to write, rehearse, and perform their exciting new virtual play. Free performances will be live streamed to the public at 7 p.m. on February 27.

For more information on how to watch the performances, visit their event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/1329716164088386 .

The RRCC team includes three Theatre students: Rachael Hogan, Liam Leiren, and Ammon Underhill; and three RRCC Theatre instructors: El Armstrong, Colette Mazunik, and Kelly Jo Eldredge.

Cofounder of this festival, Leonard Madrid, is a former RRCC theater instructor. "I'm really excited to be able to collaborate with these wonderful theatre folks again," he said. "As theatre makers, we often have trouble seeing each other's work, because we are often working on our own projects while others are performing. This gives us the chance to see each other's creative process and support each other."
