RRCC Presents Bob Thomas: A Retrospective
Art exhibit celebrates faculty’s 60 years of drawing and painting

LAKEWOOD, CO – An exhibit honoring Red Rocks Community College retired art faculty Bob Thomas is currently on view at the Susan K. Arndt Gallery at RRCC’s Lakewood campus.  The exhibit features the wide range of styles and ideas Thomas has explored throughout his career, from landscapes to portraiture to abstract work. The exhibit includes pencil drawings, prints, collages, watercolor washes, oil paintings, and acrylic paintings.

“Bob Thomas has spent a lifetime involved in drawing and painting,” said Deborah Dell, RRCC art faculty and organizer of the exhibit.  “Over the years he has worked on a series of paintings around a particular theme until he feels he has exhausted all of the creative possibilities.  Motivated to move on to a new challenge with his subjects, Bob explores new ideas and materials, never making the same painting twice.”

The community is invited to an opening reception on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5-8 p.m.  The exhibit will run through October 8.  The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. -10 p.m. and weekends 7 a.m.-6 p.m.  The gallery is located on the west end, lower level of Red Rocks Community College, 13300 West 6th Ave, Lakewood, CO.
