“Narcissus” A major project in the Studio Lighting Class (PHO204) is called “Stealing Vermeer.” Working in groups, students must find a painting by Vermeer, Caravaggio (such as this one), or a contemporary and reproduce it photographically. They must duplicate costumes, build sets, and find models to create the image. And of course, the lighting must match that of the original. The final result must be done with a camera; no Photoshop is allowed.
Faculty - Shawn Loseke
Shawn Loseke is a professional photographer, artist and educator living and working primarily in Northern Colorado. He has been an in-house corporate photographer for Morton Buildings, Inc., Colorado State University, and Forney Industries, Inc. He has been published in multiple local, national and international publications. He has shown work in several local (Colorado) galleries, national and international galleries. He holds an AAS degree in Commercial Photography from the Colorado Institute of Art (Denver, CO), a BFA in Fine Art Photography from Colorado State University (Fort Collins, CO) and an MFA in Fine Art Photography from the Academy of Art University (San Francisco. CA).
