EGT 140 - Introduction to Design and Engineering Applications (IDEA) introduces students to engineering, innovation and teamwork. 

In IDEA, students will:

  • Explore engineering disciplines
  • Practice engineering through real world projects
  • Engage in teamwork and collaboration
  • Understand how math and science apply to engineering
  • Understand how creativity fits into engineering

How to register: EGT 140, 3 credits, Introduction to Design and Engineering Applications is offered each fall and spring semester. Pre-requisites: MAT 121. IDEA will transfer to Colorado School of Mines for EPICS i and to CU-Boulder Engineering for GEEN 1400 Engineering Projects.

IDEA students use the IDEA Lab to collaborate, prototype their design, engage with mentors and make their videos or podcasts. To use the IDEA Lab, please complete the IDEA Lab membership form.
