Mentoring Veterans Program (MVP)
The Mentoring Veterans Program (MVP) creates one-on-one relationships between incoming student veterans and second year student veterans with the purpose of providing comradery and support during the transition to college life.
Volunteering to a Student Veteran Peer Mentor provides an opportunity to serve as a trusted friend and leader in the development and support of a fellow veteran.
The requirements to serve as a peer mentor:
- Mentors must have completed one semester at Red Rocks Community College
- Have a cumulative 2.5 GPA or above AND be in “good standing” at RRCC
- Possess integrity, respect, courage and an exceptional attitude
- Be a veteran or current military member of the U.S. armed services (Including National Guard and Reserves)
The requirements to be a mentee:
- Enrolled in first year of course work at RRCC
- Be a veteran or current military member of the U.S. armed services. (Including National Guard and Reserves)
