Education

An education degree prepares students for a variety of educational careers by providing a theoretical foundation and practical experience in teaching and learning. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to create and edit lesson plans, manage classrooms, and enforce school rules and regulations.

Through hands-on coursework, real-world classroom experience, and personalized support, students build the skills and confidence to create meaningful learning experiences and make a lasting impact in schools and communities.

Learning By Doing
ECE/Education courses use authentic projects, practicum experiences, and professional portfolio artifacts that connect coursework to classroom practice.

Credit for Prior Learning
Students with a current Child Development Associate credential may be eligible to receive up to 12 college credits. We also are willing to PLA certain PDIS trainings. 

Early Childhood Education Innovation Scholarship

Work in Early Childhood? Your Tuition May be Covered.

Tuition assistance is available for eligible students enrolled in Early Childhood Education pathways at Red Rocks Community College. Funding is available through Fall 2026. 

Eligible students must:

  • Be eligible for the Colorado Opportunity Fund (COF)
  • Be enrolled in an RRCC Early Childhood Education program or pathway

Foundational ECE Courses

  • ECE 1011: Introduction to Early Childhood Education
  • ECE 1031: Guidance Strategies for Young Children
  • ECE 1045: Early Childhood Techniques (Practicum)

Leadership and Mentorship Pathways

  • EDU 2251: Introduction to Relationship-Based Mentoring
  • EDU 2255: Introduction to Relationship-Based Mentoring Teaching

Additional Opportunities
