Electricians are essential to the modern world, keeping homes, businesses, and infrastructure running safely and efficiently. From residential wiring to industrial network instrumentation to power plant distribution systems, electrical professionals are vital to the operations of many systems and settings. This growing, high-demand field offers job stability, competitive wages, and opportunities for specialization. RRCC’s Electrical Program prepares students with entry-level skills and knowledge needed for residential, commercial, and industrial wiring, blueprint reading, estimating, and national electrical codes. Program offerings include several Associate of Applied Science degrees, an Associate of Science degree, and multiple short-term certificates.

Red Rocks Community College’s Electrical Program is unique in that it covers a wide range of job opportunities in the electrical field—from residential and commercial wiring to industrial systems and renewable energy technologies. Program Overview

The RRCC Electrical Program prepares students for entry-level employment in the electrical industry through hands-on, practical training in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring; blueprint reading; estimating; safety practices; and application of the National Electrical Code. The program includes a 288-hour course option that meets state requirements toward the journeyman license.

Emphasis is placed on real-world preparation using current industry tools and technologies, including motor controls, programmable controllers, and electrical test equipment.  The electrical installation courses follow the latest techniques according to the National Electrical Code, and specialized classes in electrical code and fire alarm systems help prepare students for state licensure and NICET certification examinations. Training includes the use of motor controls, programmable controllers, and modern test equipment, ensuring students gain job-ready, relevant experience.
