Internships
Launch your career while you are still attending Red Rocks Community College. Internships provide a bridge between classroom learning and professional, career-oriented work experiences.
The Career Success Center is committed to supporting students, employers and faculty in delivering powerful internship experiences.
Internships provide you with an opportunity to earn college credit while you work in a position that is related to your academic program. During an internship, you are guided by an industry expert and RRCC faculty with support from the Career Success Center.
Want to learn more about starting an internship. Review the RRCC Internship Handbook for more detailed information on the process and requirements for an internship. Once you are ready to start your internship journey, fill out our interest form or email Internships@rrcc.edu.
The Career Success Center is here to support departments with the Faculty Sponsor role during an internship. A Faculty Sponsor is a RRCC faculty who serves as the subject matter expert and academic evaluator for a student’s internship.
All students must receive approval from a Faculty Sponsor to participate in an internship BEFORE they are able to complete the internship education agreements.
Sequence of internship process:
1. Students discuss internship interests with faculty or instructor and receive approval to pursue the internship.
2. Students identify an employer who will host the internship. Faculty or instructors may provide guidance on employers who may host internships. CSC is also available to help with internship locations.
3. Student completes Internship Education Agreements.
4. Internship starts!
5. At the end of the internship, faculty sponsors ensure completion of internship time and final project requirements. Sponsor issues a grade for the internship.
Contact the CSC at Internships@rrcc.edu to learn more about the internship services and resources available to your department and students.
