Students at RRCC will have expanded scholarship access
Red Rocks Community College Receives $225,000 Grant from The Denver Foundation's Reisher Scholars Program.

Students at Red Rocks Community College will have more ways to get assistance to pay for college in the coming years.
The RRCC Foundation has received a $225,000 grant from the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation as part of a landmark $25 million initiative marking the 25th anniversary of the program. The funds will be directed to RRCC students over the next two academic years, and the applications will open in November.
“Our work is to remove barriers and ensure students can reach their goals to transform their lives. This generous gift is going to help us reach even more students,” said Jane Marsh, Executive Director of the RRCC Foundation. “We are so thankful for this partnership.”
The grant is part of a statewide investment by the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation, recognizing colleges and universities that share a commitment to expanding access, opportunity, and success for Colorado students. RRCC is among a group of current and future Reisher partner institutions across the state to receive anniversary funding.
“By putting significant resources directly into the hands of institutions that share our commitment to student success, we are strengthening relationships statewide and opening doors for the next generation of Colorado scholars,” said Javier Alberto Soto, President and CEO of The Denver Foundation, which administers the scholarship program.
For RRCC, the support of the Reisher Scholars Program is especially meaningful since Roger Reisher’s success started right in our backyard, in Lakewood, where he founded FirstBank.
The RRCC Foundation last year awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships to more than 300 students. About 70% of the students who earn an associate degree at RRCC do not incur any debt.
Students who need financial assistance have many options for scholarships but only have to fill out a single application to be considered each year.
The scholarships awarded with the Reisher funds will be need-based, students are encouraged to submit FAFSA/CASFA in tandem with their scholarship application.
