Red Rocks Community College serves students from around the world — and we're committed to making sure language is never a barrier to learning.

English as a Second Language

For students that come to RRCC speaking a first language that isn’t English, we offer an English as a Second Language (ESL) program that helps students learn the English skills that will help them succeed in college.

The program is open to anyone looking to improve their English skills, but there is also a more intensive ESL program that prepares international students to apply for a visa.

HVAC in Spanish

This year, Red Rocks is rolling out Spanish-taught courses in the HVAC program with support from a state grant

Two of the program’s instructors already are bilingual and the college is looking to hire more. The goal would be to allow students to earn a degree while learning in Spanish, allowing greater access to a rapidly growing industry.

Training Future Educators

Another way that RRCC supports bilingual education beyond our campus is through courses to help prepare future educators to teach the multi-lingual students they will encounter.

The education department also works with the Rocky Mountain Education Center to offer a Child Development Associate certificate program completely in Spanish taught courses.
