Red Rocks Community College Dean of Academic Affairs Selected as Fellow for National Leadership Academy

Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) proudly announces that Wendy Lubin, Dean of Academic Affairs, has been selected as one of 26 fellows for the seventh cohort of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo.

The prestigious year-long fellowship program prepares leaders in higher education for senior-level roles across colleges and universities, with an emphasis on Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Emerging HSIs.

Fellows will participate in webinars and three intensive seminars, beginning in November 2025 at HACU’s 39th Annual Conference in Aurora, Colorado. Additional seminars will be held in Washington, D.C., during HACU’s National Capitol Forum in April 2026, and at an international location to be announced.

“Wendy’s selection as a HACU Leadership Academy Fellow is a testament to her dedication to student success and her commitment to advancing equity and excellence in higher education,” said RRCC President, Dr. Landon Pirius. “Her leadership will continue to strengthen Red Rocks Community College and the communities we serve.”

Dr. Chris Juarez, RRCC Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Innovation, added, “Wendy’s desire to participate underlines her commitment and leadership as a co-chair of our HSI committee, as we identify as an emerging HSI.”

The Leadership Academy draws upon the expertise of current and former presidents, chancellors, and senior administrators, who collectively bring more than 100 years of higher education leadership experience. Fellows also benefit from personalized mentorship with a university president or senior-level administrator and complete a special project designed to make a lasting impact at their home institution.

Since its inception, the HACU Leadership Academy has become a vital pipeline for developing diverse leaders prepared to guide institutions through the challenges and opportunities of higher education today.
