Intramurals & Drop-In’s

The mission of the Student Recreation Center’s Sport Program is to engage the RRCC community through structured & inclusive recreational sporting activities with an emphasis on community development, sportsmanship, education, and wellness. Whether it's a tournament or a drop in event, come play with us regardless of background/experience. We are here to teach and learn with you!

How Intramurals Work:

Each semester the SRC hosts several sport tournaments including pickleball, volleyball, 3v3 basketball, soccer, and many more. All Sport Programs are free, and students can sign up on the Student Recreation Center website or at the front desk of the SRC.

Policy & Procedure:

  • Registration ahead of time is highly encouraged but not required for Intramurals.
  • If an event were to fill up, only those registered ahead of time will be permitted to play.
  • Showing up on time for tournaments will help guarantee you or your team can play. Once a bracket has been created and the first game(s) has/have finished, we will not be able to add additional people.
  • Specific game play rules will be written out for each tournament. The rules we enforce are based on college recreational sports standards.
  • Our officials are learning and developing their referring skills and techniques for a wide variety of sports that we offer. All calls made by a student employee ref stand. Please be respectful of their knowledge and education. They are there to help keep a fun, safe, and fair game. Any disrespectful behavior toward our staff disqualifies you from future game play until the conduct issue has been resolved with the return approval of the full time Sport Programs Coordinator.
  • Come with a team or come as a free agent! Free agents may be added to existing teams or combined to form a free agent team. (Subject to participation numbers)
  • Good Sportsmanship is a top priority of the Sport Program. Anyone who is deemed by our staff as breaking the practice of good sportsmanship will be removed from play. If behavior persists across events, an individual may have their access revoked for future events.
  • Tournaments are open to other college students; to register they must email the Sport Programs Coordinator ahead of time at alana.leonard@rrcc.edu
  • Free sports drinks are available to those participating in our events!
  • Come watch! Anyone can come spectate, cheer, and enjoy watching game play.
  • The winners of all tournaments receive the SRC swag of their choosing!”

How Drop-In’s Work:

Each semester we host Drop-In events that are less competitive and more recreational. A chance for students to play together with whatever time they have. All Sport Programs are free!

Policy & Procedure:

  • Pre-registration is NOT needed; we will ask that you “register” when you arrive to collect an overall participation headcount
  • Come “Drop In” for 5 minutes or the whole time, whatever works for your schedule!
  • Good Sportsmanship is a top priority of the Sport Program. Anyone who is deemed by our staff as breaking the practice of good sportsmanship will be removed from play. If behavior persists across events, an individual may have their access revoked for future events.
  • Free sports drinks are available to those participating in our events!”
