Physical Requirements For The Phlebotomy
- Manual Dexterity
- Ability to bend, squat, stoop and kneel
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. and support the weight of a patient when necessary
- Standing for long periods of time
- Critical Thinking
- Visual and Auditory Acuity
- Ability to Read/Write proficiently
- Communication Skills
- Absence of any disability that would affect the safety of a patient
- Time management skills
- Word Processing abilities
- Professionalism
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
In addition to tuition you will be asked to have:
- A Watch
- Scrubs
- Optional Lab Coat- some internship sites may require a lab coat
Career Path
Phlebotomy can lead to other healthcare careers by providing the necessary clinical experience for entry into such fields as Diagnostic Imaging, Sonography, Nursing, Physician Assistant or Medical Doctor.
