Stephen Cayou has been working wood for nearly 50 years. As an advanced craftsman, mastering the skills of woodworking with hand tools only and reproducing “arts and crafts” period furniture are his two passions.

Takayuki studied traditional woodworking in Japan. He has lived in Colorado for 20 years. His work can be seen at the Denver Botanic Gardens and the Buddhist meditation room in the Cadet Chapel at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

A Mechanical Engineer by trade, Randy has also been making furniture, doors and cabinets for over 20 years. His woodworking also includes commercial restoration projects, restoring furniture and other custom projects.

For over 40 years Neil has been designing and building custom cabinetry. His favorite type of woodworking is to reproduce historic millwork. Neil has been teaching at Red Rocks since 1995, passing along new technology and concepts in woodworking as well as the old methods.

Vince trained at San Diego State University where he earned an M.A. in Industrial Arts with emphases in Metalworking and Furniture Design. Solid wood furniture, turned wood and metal spun objects are the focus of his business.

Ted Bruning

Ted applies his extensive product development experience in the computer industry to teaching the use of computer technologies in woodworking, using CNC and laser technologies.  He is also an accomplished furniture craftsman. Ted creates furniture created from locally harvested ponderosa pine using traditional Spanish Colonial Furniture-making joinery techniques and decorative motifs.

John Orth

John Orth

John Orth is a specialist in the building and restoration of orchestral stringed instruments. He has more than 20 years experience working with musical instruments and holds a master's degree in history from Carnegie Mellon University.  As a transplant to Colorado he spends his time between rock climbing, fly fishing, and playing the alto recorder in various baroque ensembles in the Denver area.
