Develop New Skills!

The Traditional Fine Woodworking tract of the Fine Woodworking Program focuses on designing and building custom furniture with enduring quality. Courses in traditional fine woodworking integrate traditional methods that date back centuries with modern technology, materials, and design. Students learn how to use and maintain the quintessential hand and power tools of the trade. Each successive class builds upon techniques and skills, from basic joinery, to table making, to carcass (box/cabinet) construction, to chair making. Students learn design skills as they pertain to wood works, taking hand-drawn sketches into CAD software programs such as SketchUp and Rhino to create professional-quality 3D models.
