Red Rocks Community College Expands Its Portfolio of Bachelor’s Degree Programs

This is the college’s fourth bachelor’s degree program, along with cybersecurity, secure software development, and water quality management technology. Red Rocks was one of the first community colleges in the state of Colorado to offer a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, introducing the BAS in water quality management in 2016.
The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) defines the Bachelor of Applied Science as a career-oriented degree typically built on the Associate of Applied Science degree. The BAS focuses on providing hands-on experiences and incorporating job-related skills into the classroom with the goal of giving students a foundation to advance their careers.
Now Enrolling for Fall 2025
The BAS in Business Administration is now enrolling students. New and current Red Rocks students can earn one of five stackable business AAS degrees to complete the first two years of the BAS curriculum. Those AAS degrees include accounting paraprofessional, accounting technician, business – interdisciplinary, business administration, and business – real estate.
Students who hold Red Rocks associate degrees in one of the above business or accounting disciplines and those who graduated with one of those AAS degrees in May 2025 can continue their education at Red Rocks and complete the BAS in Business Administration as soon as May 2027. The college will continue to offer an Associate of Arts in Business that is intended to transfer to a four-year Colorado institution, where students can earn a bachelor’s degree (and go on to earn a master’s degree).
“I believe so strongly in the amazing students we have here at Red Rocks,” says Stephanie Schooley, chair of the Business and Accounting Department and business faculty member. “Students who come here are seeking cost-effective ways to earn an education and develop the business acumen to set themselves up for success. I’m excited the college now offers this BAS in business administration degree, which will enable students to advance their careers in local businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations in our community. We all win when our students are successful.”
