General Information

These directions are for ordering Red Rocks transcripts only.  Because RRCC is not permitted to copy and forward transcripts of other institutions, students must request records directly from prior institutions.

How to order an Official Red Rocks transcript:

Red Rocks Community College authorizes Parchment to manage the ordering, processing, and secure delivery of your official RRCC transcripts. This method is strongly preferred, due to speed of delivery and lower cost. Instructions for paper transcripts are in the following section.

Official transcripts use official Red Rocks branding and have the Registrar’s signature. Other colleges will only accept transcripts sent directly from the previous college. Parchment transcripts are considered official by most colleges; check with your receiving college to make sure they will accept one.

Before ordering, please be aware that:

  • If final grades for a class have not been posted, it will appear on a transcript as “in-progress.” For current students, please make sure your current semester grades are posted on your unofficial transcript before ordering. You can find your unofficial transcript in the “Transcripts” tool in The Rock.
  • If you order an official transcript and send it to yourself, it will become unofficial if it is forwarded to anyone else.
  • Colleges and universities will not accept transcripts that were issued to the student first, either print or digital.
  • If you need an attachment to be sent with the transcript (a school letter, a form that Red Rocks needs to complete, an application matching barcode, etc.), you are able to attach the file in Parchment.
  • Electronic transcript requests through Parchment are normally processed the same day. Paper transcript processing may take up to a week. 
  • Electronic transcripts can only be ordered through Parchment, not through the RRCC form. 
  • Transcript requests that are processed in-office are completed during regular business hours. Requests made during holidays and weekends will be processed during the next business day. 
  • At this time, all transcripts are either issued through Parchment or at the Red Rocks Lakewood Campus.

Current students can order a transcript through their student account on the RRCC portal. Under Student Tools, click on “Transcripts.” When you click on “Request Official Transcript” you will be taken to the Parchment order screen. You will not be able to use The Rock after three consecutive semesters of inactivity at Red Rocks.

Previous students can click on the green Parchment icon below to create a Parchment account and order a transcript. You may still order your transcript if you have forgotten your student ID number. Make sure you have listed the name you used while at RRCC, your birth year, a phone number, and other required information.

 

link is external)WWalk-in students can only order paper transcripts from the Lakewood campus. Students who come in to pick their transcript must present a valid photo ID. Per FERPA regulations, transcripts can only be released directly to the Student. 

Official Paper Transcript Ordering

Official paper transcripts are placed in a sealed envelope and are considered official as long as the envelope is not opened. Some colleges will accept a hand-carried unopened copy; verify with the college to be sure they will accept it. Please allow 2-3 business days for paper processing.

To have an official transcript mailed somewhere, print out the Paper Transcript Request Form.   Please print out, physically sign, and date the form before returning it. Electronic signatures (including using a digital pen to draw a signature on the PDF) are not accepted.  The form must be faxed, mailed, hand delivered, or emailed directly to the Cashiers Office, using the contact information on the form.

If you need an attachment to be sent with the transcript (a school letter, a form that Red Rocks needs to complete, an application matching barcode, etc.), attach the file in Parchment or submit it with the paper Transcript Request Form.

Cost:

The transcript cost is based on the method of delivery, requesting party, and destination. During the ordering process you will be able to see the exact charge prior to entering your credit card information. Please include any attachments or forms the college must complete with your request.

Please note: in-office processing for mail or pickup of a paper transcript will not be available if campus is closed and staff are working remotely.

$ 2.00 – Parchment electronic delivery (fastest).

$ 4.50 – USPS mail delivery to a United States address.

$ 4.50 – Pick up transcript in person at the Lakewood campus.

$ 5.00 – International USPS delivery outside of the United States (Including Canada)

$ 25.00 – Overnight/Fed Ex paper delivery in U.S.

$ 47.50 – Overnight/Fed Ex paper delivery outside of the United States (including Canada)

Unofficial Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts are printed on white printer paper. These transcripts have different information and a different format than official transcripts. Transcripts that were originally ordered as official, either printed or digital, are considered unofficial once they leave the original recipient.

Current students can download their unofficial transcripts for free in The Rock. Go to the Transcripts button in the Student Tools section and click “View/Print Unofficial Transcript.”

Former students who want an unofficial transcript should email transcripts@rrcc.edu(link sends e-mail), or come to the Lakewood campus with a valid photo ID.

Third Party Requests:

Learning institutions, businesses, law firms, etc. must provide a valid Student Release of Information Form and $10.00 per transcript (2 – 3 business days processing time). The request form must be sent to the Cashiers Office.  All third party requests will be delivered by standard USPS.
