International students/ F1 Visa

We offer three levels of ESL: Basic-Intermediate-Advanced (level determined by placement test)

Intensive ESL Program with the required 18 hours of classroom instruction. Integrated approach to language acquisition with additional language learning opportunities. Students in this program will attend the 12 credit Core ESL resident program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and participate in other classes such as United States Civics, Film Appreciation, American Literature, Public Speaking and Communication, and Career Exploration.

Intensive resident/Credit classes

We offer three levels of ESL: Basic-Intermediate-Advanced (level determined by placement test)

This Intensive 12 credit Core ESL program meets three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday mornings. It follows the Red Rocks semester schedule. This program is financial aid eligible (please speak with the Red Rocks Financial Aid office). This program is designed for students seeking additional education or a college degree.

Noncredit/non-traditional students

We offer both in-person and live remote synchronous (Live/online with ESL Professor) ESL classes in three levels, basic, intermediate, and advanced. Placement determined by short ESL assessment.

The classes are noncredit, low-cost alternatives for students with busy lives. Generally, offer in the early evenings or Saturday mornings. These classes are pass/fail and no grading. Classes are supplemented with on online learning platform to get additional practice and do homework. This program can be accessed on a computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection.

ESL Language Lab

Our ESL Language Lab is offered to all levels of students. This Saturday morning ESL Language Lab is a low-cost noncredit opportunity to improve your English skills in a self-paced environment. Students will have access to NorthStar Digital Literacy program for those needing to improve their computer skills. They will also have access to an online ESL learning platform program to practice their English in a self-paced program. On Saturdays, our lab will have an ESL professor to support students in their learning.
